HRCH Rory x HRCH Penny Sh breeding done October 2025 - availability

We are excited this fall to share this dynamic breeding. Penny comes from Katian Kennels right here in Texas and Penny’s sire is “Grip” and like Rory’s sire “Yeti” he is a Hall of Fame, a Grand Hunting Retriever Champion and a Master National Hunter. There are only 3 goldens in history with these field accolades. Not only are Rory and Penny Hunting Retriever Champions and proven each year hunting in the field, their pedigrees are loaded with many accomplished dogs.

Penny is a great marker and runs crisp blinds and like Rory she is steady and confident at the line. She sits nice and quietly in the blind even for hours. On her first teal hunt this season she picked up 24 birds under 4 guns. Tractable - YES! In fact, last year Seth’s 7 year old daughter took her to the line and handled her at a HRC Started hunt test. Penny is just at home in the house with young children as she is with other working dogs in the kennel or afield. Penny is 57lbs.

If you are looking for genetic diversity in field goldens it may not get much better than this.

Peanut is a stunning medium dark golden, athletic build, 65 lbs and stands 24 inches. She shines as a hunting companion, has a calm steady demeanor and sharp marking skills. She earned her Started (SHR) and Seasoned (HR) hunting titles with ease being amateur trained and handled for both. She also has her Rally Novice and Advanced titles. We expect this pairing with Rory to build on the natural excellence afield and tractability they both have. They should be the perfect companions for field and family.

Rory x Luna repeat breeding (puppies born 11/10/25 6 males, 3 females) - 3 males available

Broken Sky Kennels out of Nebraska has been producing great field golden retrievers for years and I am excited that he is once again including Rory in his breedings. He saw something special in Rory when they hung out the summer of 2020 and quickly decided to breed with Leto in the fall of 2020 (see Leto below) and seeing how that first litter is doing, again in 2021. This breeding with Luna in late 2022 and again in 2023 is also a repeat breeding, which speaks to the quality of puppies and associated feedback from the first breeding. Expect puppies in this breeding to have a dark field coat, lots of desire, trainability and that patience in the blind when ducks are not flying. We are super excited for this repeat breeding with “Peach” at Black Ridge Goldens in Utah. The feedback has been great from the previous breeding. Get with Jayden at Black Ridge for pictures and feedback from the first litter.

Peach is extremely eager to please and is fast. Like Rory, she has a drive to retrieve that is hard to beat, very athletic, and seems to always be carrying something in her mouth. She can turn off her high drive and is gentle around the kids and family. Peach weighs 54lbs.

In April of 2022 James Bagwell of Hielan Goldens dropped by Resolute Ranch to meet me and see Rory work. His thoughts…”.Wow! Athletic - looks - motiviation- temperament - steadiness - titles and proven in the field. Rory has it all!” We briefly discussed the potential of a future breeding. We are extremely happy to finally make that discussion a reality.

Shelbie is a beautiful medium colored golden out of great field bred hunting lines with European field goldens from Denmark on her sires’s side adding genetic diversity to her pedigree. She is very smart, has an excellent temperament, loves to please and is a great family dog. She has an athletic build with 55lbs of go! She completed her AKC junior hunter in 2021 and is a superb upland pheasant hunter.

Pairing her with Rory will build on her speed, desire in the field and that tractability that is so strong with Rory. This is a repeat breeding. Shelbie had only two in 2024 and they are doing great, Shelbie is in great shape so James at Heilan has decided to repeat the breeding this summer.

Due the winter breeding not taking we are trying again later this year at Maggie’s next heat cycle.

Maggie has a medium golden flat coat, the typical golden personality, and loves to work. In the field she is an excellent marker, very watery, and a hard charger. She has completed her AKC JH (junior hunter) title and her UKC HR (Hunting Retriever) title and the plans are for a SH (Senior Hunter) title and HRCH (Hunting Retriever Champion) in 2025. Maggie weighs 52 lbs and is very quick and responsive while working.

Pairing her with Rory will build on her speed and quickness, desire in the field and that tractability that is so strong with Rory.

Dottie is a stunning dark golden with a strong athletic 65lb build and a vibrant personality to match. She is a high-drive hunting companion who is working towards her Junior Hunter title. Dottie is highly intelligent with a sharp mind and an independent thinker - qualities that sometimes make her more of a strategist than a rule follower. At home, she is affectionate and gentle, especially with the children, making her the ideal blend of drive and devotion. She is person oriented and thrives on human interaction.

As dark as Dottie is we are expecting very dark goldens out of this litter. The matchup with Rory should build on the drive they both have our plans are to build the tractability for their future handlers.
